Junes Workparty!
It
was a very small group this June weekend only 9 braved the cold, which turned
out not to be as cold as we expected! Phew!
The
Heritage walkers from Madikwe ended at the Boma, what a mess they left, used
toilet paper under every tree, broken bottles and plastic bottle tops, sweet
wrappers etc in the big boma.
Jax
and Ed cleaned the small boma before we got there. They had thrown plastic
& glass bottles into the fire and left the mess and ash for us to clean up.
:o(
There
are 2 lions going into the big boma for 2 weeks so we had to make sure there
was nothing that could harm them and 50 buffalo will be off loaded into the
small boma before there release for a few hour after their journey.
We
cleared and fixed all the holes on the ramp and cut the long grass and weeds in
the other 2 small bomas. They put up shade cloth on the gate so the lions can't
see the buffalo!
Graham
fixed the electric fence with the batteries from Metswede and repaired the
electric fence around Mankwe walkway after something big walked thought the
fence!!
Ed
replaced the geyser at the HO camp and fixed the leak on the toilet – which is
always a good thing!
And
then we were woken up early Sunday morning when Graham opened our door and it
feel on the ground - who knows how that happened!!
But
just to top it off we had a blow out on the way home – luckily who should come
to our rescue but Tom and Margaret on their way back from Namibia, what a small
world!!
